Yup, harking back to my bartending days, with a drink that was actually published in Bartender Magazine. Yes, I have been published. And one other time as well when my lovely English Comp professor took my bungee jumping story and submitted it to the ICCC newsletter.
And no, I haven’t included any of those publishing experiences on my queries. Not that desperate. Yet.
Fill a short rocks glass with ice
Add 1 shot caramel baileys
Add 1 shot butterscotch schnapps
Add a splash of milk
Garnish with a cherry
It’s short, it’s sweet, it’s oh-so-goooooooood
enjoy!

Some of you may know I manage a restaurant, and some of you may further remember my bartending days. I’ve never let those go…bartending was in my blood, waitressing puts cash in my pocket. Ah well….you still get the benefits by getting some of my glorious drink recipes.
This one is called Hot Buttered Rum. It’s a hot cider drink, a little on the sweet side.
1/2 shot rum
1/2 shot butterscotch schnapps
6-8 ounce glass of hot cider
Stir well, sip carefully, drive even more carefully-er.

Just for something a little different. =)
A lot of you don’t know I bartended for probably 15 years. I loved it. Bartending is my life. Unfortunately, waitressing is where the money’s at.
But while I was “riding the stick” behind the bar, I came up with a few wonderful recipes. Here’s my personal favorite. The Long Island Iced Tea.
1 ounce each rum, vodka, gin, triple sec
Pour over ice in a tall glass.
Top with 1 shot of port o call (can be found in any liquor store) and an equal amount of coke. Yesssssssssss you can use diet coke if you must. But no pepsi. Seriously, we must draw the line somewhere.
Add a wedge of lemon, a nice bendy straw so you don’t have to put any effort into drinking the thing, and voila!
The world’s best Long Island Ice Tea.
If I do say so myself.
