No, not the scrumptious kind you get with Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey. The kind you get when you stare at your manuscript and ask yourself – now what?
Now the bully has Captain Fanny Pack by the belt and then he…..um….then they….he said er………
Or the heroine says “I’m trying to find a husband damnit!” and he says….well, he just looks at her and then he…..umm…..
And I have three of these running concurrently, and all of them are BLANK. The characters aren’t speaking, they’re lying there flat and lifeless on the page. Waiting.
I possibly need a defibrillator to bring them back to life. Or maybe some chocolate.
Either way, I’ve reached the end of my rope with the little darlings today. They’ve been dodging me for the past two weeks, refusing to come out and play. So, I’m going in after them. They WILL come out and play, chapter two of CFP WILL be written today and chapter three of deserted island WILL be written today as well as the rewrite of chapter one of the EA.
Give me my pencil – I’m going in after ’em.
(some jaws music would be appropriate here)
da dum. da dum da dum da dum.
